Our Founders wanted a well-armed, dedicated nation of defenders. Well-regulated means well-trained, disciplined, in good working order, and proficient. In an age where information is abundant and wisdom scarce, this book cuts through the smoke in mirrors so prevalent with firearm training. Knowing what and how to practice makes the difference between improvement and frustration. The Well-Regulated is a book on selected topics relevant to shooter development and our birth as a nation. The Well-Regulated combines historical insight with the observations of an individual who has been in harm’s way, protected others, and trained thousands of individuals to do the same. It is a book based on proven methodology and techniques. The methods, insights, and articles in this book will help the novice and experienced alike. With guidance on equipment selection, shooter development, and historical context, the material inside is a treasure trove for those looking to get better and enable others to do the same. Containing dozens of detailed and sequential photos, anyone with a desire to progress as a defender of this nation will find value in the work. The author, Reid Henrichs, served in the US Marine Corps from 1999-2003 as an 0351 assaultman. He was a police officer who volunteered for Task Force Illinois, sent to New Orleans for Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005. He holds a master’s degree in history from Illinois State University. He taught public high school and was an adjunct professor for Nashville State Community College.Reid has been a full-time teacher of firearms and tactics since 2013. In 2015 he founded Valor Ridge with the purpose of graduating proficient, dedicated, and disciplined students. Students who value this country and its foundational principles of liberty, limited government, and natural rights tend to train there. Reid believes that confidence and competence with firearms is a decision away, and coupled with hard work, anyone can achieve their goals if they are willing to sacrifice for them. Valor Ridge teaches students who range in experience from novice to elite military and law enforcement personnel. Read more
